Sails 2006 kings february dolphin

1st-5th

If you checked in to the report last month you saw the kingfish were chewing us apart! That has not changed one bit. Sailfish are biting and some east wind has brought in some serious dolphin action. Every trip has really been good so hope for the weather to continue to be good. It has been cold a couple of mornings this week but still been warming up to near 80' degrees. You know we all get cold when it hits 60 at night here! Any way you might want to bring a sweatshirt to wear over your T in the morning. Super bowl on Sunday- good luck gamblers- don't care about the teams much myself!

6th-12th February- Hot Hot Action!

Went out with a buddy of mine commercial kingfishing one day and found them in the same spot. Crushed the big ones! Fishing has remained the same with big kings and small kings mixed up on the reef and many many sailfish around. Caught an absolutly huge sailfish for Bob on the 7th, nice trophy. We have had some dolphin action including several fish on the 8th for Jeff Donahue and quite a few bib golden amberjacks have been on the deep water wrecks. These things know how to bend a rod!

Feb 13th-17th Mixed Bag of fish

Lots of different kinds of fish biting right now. Still no problem getting your limit of kings and many dolphin mixed in too. Monday we got a nice wahoo and tuesday a couple of sailfish. Grouper and snapper were cooperative on wednesday for the bahia mar gang and we got some big golden amberjacks on thursday mixed in. Monday had a surprise catch of blackfin tuna, many of them pretty big. nice to see them around this time of year. Even ate one myself covered in sesame seeds and seared rare. Can't beat it!

Fe 18th-28th

The end of February has been great for fishing for big sharks. With massive long tail thresher sharks offshore (2.5 miles) and voracious Bull Sharks hanging just outside the swimming area off of Boca Raton and DelRey beaches, we've had our fill of battling the ultimate in sportfish. We landed six trophy sharks in five trips and still had time to troll up some nice wahoo and a boatload of kingfish. There were even a few decent mahi around on tuesday.
