MAY AIR GETS WARM FISHING GETS HOT

1ST-7TH Non Stop Action

Once a year we get a massive run of false albacore or "fake tuna" in South Florida. This run lasts about a month to a month and a half and presents some of the best fishing ever seen. This year the run came early, on the 1st of May to be exact. These fish are great fighters and give hookups of three to four fish as the norm. What is really special though is that several other species follow thru with them gorging and growing large on this protein rich species. For instance Monday afternoon on a four hour trip we landed 12 false albacore, 6 mahi, 8 kings and a beautiful trophy sailfish. This paled in comparison to Tuesdays trip of 32 albacore, 12 mahi, 3 wahoo a massive barracuda and a kingfish. The rest of the week was more of the same with a few awesome Bull Sharks and Hammerheads mixed in too. Everything eats these little tunys. BOOK NOW THIS ACTION STANDS TO LAST THRU JUNE!!!

8TH-14TH Wreck Fishing is Hot

If the non stop trolling action weren't enough for you, the action on the wrecks is hot too. Giant amberjacks seem to be stacked up so thick I'm surprised they can move down there. Also, if you are able to get your bait past them, big black, Gag and Warsaw groupers, some between 50 and 100lbs, are thriving deep on the structure. Days like this are why we got into the business. Fishing off of Ft. Lauderdale is hot, hot hot!!

15TH-21ST FT. LAUDERDALE SPORTFISHING

King mackeral and bonito have been the main staple this week, allowing the Crowd Pleaser limit out on kings almost every trip. Mahi mahi have been around sporadically too, showing up in better numbers on the reef rather than way offshore in the gulf stream. For all you reel fisherman out there though, the big draw has come from the bottom with arrival of some very aggressive golden amber jacks, averaging thirty lbs, and some trophy sandbar and bull sharks! Either of these species will give any angler a true run for his money. We still have spots open so call now to reserve.

MAY 22ND-31ST FEEDING FRENZY

The trophy sharks are as thick as theives this week! Diamond scale sharks, bulls, hammerheads and even a wicked tiger shark were all battled onboard the Crowd Pleaser this week. On May 31st Sam Jones' group landed the first greater grey hammerhead of the year. At 10' long and 400 lbs thats going to make an impressive conversation piece at his home, way to go!
Trolling has brought a lot of mahi mahi, but almost all have been ridiculously small. However, keep your chin up. Due to the enforcemnt of relatively new regulations and the rapid growth rate of these fish, this years throw backs will be next years slobs, so bring it on.
