SEPTEMBER 2006

1ST-10TH WAHOOS SHOW UP

September is always a great month for wahoo. Strong southernly currents often push thru just outside the reef and turn the wahoo bite on. On the second of Sept. Bill and Joe landed one weighing out at nearly fifty pounds, and it had a ten pounder in its stomach. After landing that beautiful trophy they decided to try their hand at a real monster and landed a massive bull shark. Way to go! We had a great time later in the week landing some tasty tile fish on the eight, a nice gag grouper on the tenth and lots of kings and mackeral inbetween.

Sept 11th-20th

All sorts of things biting all week long, good variety. A few kings are on the reef and there has been some outstanding Dolphin fishing offshore. If you put your time in out there you will find them- we had a couple of all day trips this week and really scored well in the double digets on both of them. Best action for us was about 8 miles out. Wednesday we got a nice cobia on one of the wrecks and bottom fishing has been pretty good too. A huge catch of Mahogany snapper looked good at the dock on Thursday!

SEPT 21ST-30TH THE NORM

King fish and bonitos were the norm this week keeping all of our charters very busy. A few dolphin have been around just a little further off shore, and we even managed to land a nice bull shark oth the 27th. Late in the season for those monsters but there he was.
