We had been looking forward to hosting Al Brooks And His wife Terry for some time. Al has taken me as a guest on many memorable Maryland waterfowl hunts. The plan was to head out off the coast of Fort Lauderdale and catch sailfish. Monday (day after the super bowl) started out eerily quiet, we seemed to be the only boat out. After finding some live bait,we were greeted at the inlet by an 8ft. ground swell rolling across the mouth. Timing was definitely gonna be everything when fishing in Fort Lauderdale. I knew the thought of returning through that was going to be on my mind all day.cold and windy we started out trolling missing a few bites and boating a kingfish. Time to kite fish and after a couple of hours there he was. Al and Terry deferred to their guest John, so after a great fight, some pics and a healthy tag and release we were headed for home. Of course the old girl handled the inlet seamlessly. Day 2 we went straight to kite fishing and within moments we has Al's fish on. Terry was next releasing a healthy shark. As we were wrapping it up with everyone watching a giant wahoo skyrockets on the left long. Of course he sliced right through the sailfish leader but what a sight. Thanks for all the hunting trips Al, hope you had a good time, we are looking forward to next time.
